Carpet Stain Cleaning has many house hold recipes. Listed below are 4 common house hold items that can remove stains.

Hydrogen Peroxide can be used for many different household stains including, urine, red wine, nail polish. It is recommended to use a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide to prevent bleaching of the fabric, carpet or upholstery. Pour the peroxide on the stain and let sit for 1-3 minutes. Wash the area with cold water than dry with a clean towel by blotting the surface.

Club Soda has been a long standing house hold recipe for carpet and fabric stains. Club soda with salt is a tried and tested home remedy and has been around for many years as a carpet stain cleaning recipe. Crush the salt into the stain then add the club soda. Let the mixture soak for about a half hour, vacuum over the stain, rinse with water and dry with a clean cloth.

White Vinegar can be used as a deodorizer as well as a carpet stain cleaner. It is popularly known for removing urine stains, red wine and coffee stains. One problem with vinegar like hydrogen peroxide is that it could discolor the carpet or fabric. Test on an area of your carpet that is not normally visible before using this household remedy. The white vinegar should be mixed at a 1 to 2 ratio with mostly water. Make sure that the water and white vinegar are well mixed together. Soak up the stain causing liquid with dry paper towels. Once mixed it can be applied generously using a spray bottle or damp sponge. You may need to repeat the process until the stain is gone. The vinegar will evaporate and so will the smell as the carpet dries.

Baking Soda is a great way to remove odors in your carpet but not ideal for stain removal. It can be used for spot treatment or sprinkled over the entire carpet. The idea behind baking soda is not to wet it but clean it off with a broom and then vacuum. Baking soda has the ability to neutralize odors both acidic and basic.

Remember to use these remedies on areas of carpet or fabric that will not be seen first. Many of these products can cause discoloration if used in heavy amounts so please experiment in an area that is not normally visible to prevent serious damage to the carpet.
